Creator Or Consumer

We are doing one of two things in any moment; we are either creating or consuming.  When we create, we are in control. When we consume, others are in control.  Think about that in terms of teams and teammates, if I am a consumer, I am completely depended on their attitudes and moods.  I just take in whatever they are putting out.

If I am a creator, on the other hand, I am the one who decides the moods and attitudes in the room.  As a leader, what I create is what makes the difference.  If I walk into a room full of bad attitudes and consume them, then I will invariability lose my power to choose my mood.  When I am a creator, I establish the mood and the attitude of my own deciding.

Ask yourself today, are you a creator or a consumer?

Creators:

1)    Decide on their attitudes and mood

2)    Decide their own actions and behaviors

3)    Find solutions and take initiative

4)    Live with intentionality

5)    Prescribe and dictate

Consumers:

1)    Are told what to think and do

2)    Have their moods and attitudes manipulated by others

3)    Wait to be directed

4)    Live in reaction

5)    Follow and regurgitate
